Student Affairs Divisions: Student Wellness Centre

The Student Wellness Centre provides health care and support to enhance McMaster students’ emotional, physical and personal well-being.

Division priorities:

  • Increase access to mental health care for McMaster students by decreasing the waiting times for all appointments and delivering a solution-focused approach to mental health.
  • Maintain personalized service to address the students’ mental and physical health needs within our model of care.
  • Direct students within the Stepped Care Model through facilitated consultations with a mental health nurse or counsellor.
  • Focus on health promotion by providing diverse and equitable wellness prevention and awareness campaigns, programs, and events to improve student health and connect students with information, resources and services in the McMaster and Hamilton communities.
  • Evaluate programs with data to support the uptake and continued delivery to address diverse student needs.
