Student Affairs Divisions: Athletics & Recreation

Athletics & Recreation’s mission is to cultivate human potential and enrich wellness through recreation and sport. The division’s priorities are focused on facilitating transformative student and student-athlete experiences in the following ways:

  • Create an open, accepting environment focused on equity, diversity and inclusion practices that ensure recreational and competitive sport experiences enhance the lives of all students, faculty and staff.
  • Develop and maintain a transparent, proactive, student-supportive culture emphasizing all aspects of physical, mental and overall well-being.
  • Collaborate and build relationships with campus partners to grow our community.
  • Support and maintain high student-athlete GPAs, retention rates and graduation rates.
  • Leverage Athletics & Recreation people, programs, projects and facilities to inspire all students, faculty and staff to be active and lead the way in our commitment to the Okanagan Charter.
