(Earth, Environment & Society) was named one of the world’s most cited and influential researchers by Clarivate. Altaf was also appointed Faculty of Science Research Chair in Environmental Sustainability and Climate Change.

(Medical & Biological Physics) won both the 2021 Canadian Astroparticle Summer Student Talk Competition and the SNOLAB Spring Student Talk Competition.

(Chemistry & Chemical Biology) received a New Frontiers Research Fund Exploration Award from the federal government and an award from the Canada Foundation for Innovation’s John R. Evans Leaders Fund.

(Physics & Astronomy) was appointed Scientific Associate at CERN and received the PROSE prize from the American Association of Publishers for the best chemistry and physics book.

(Mathematics & Statistics) received the Canadian Applied and Industrial Mathematics Society’s Research Prize and delivered the Research Prize Lecture during the CAIMS annual meeting. David was also named a Faculty of Science Research Chair in Mathematical Epidemiology.
